What's Actually Happening With a Bunion
A bunion is a misalignment of the big toe joint that causes a bony prominence on the inside edge of the foot. It is progressive, meaning it can worsen over time, and it is more common in women than men. Research suggests links between bunion development and years spent in shoes that are too narrow, too high, or simply not built for the foot doing the work inside them.
The consequence is a foot that needs more space, more support, and more considered design than most footwear delivers.

The Sole Saver Pack®
Built for Bunion-Affected Feet
The Sole Saver Pack® is one of FRANKIE4's signature design features, developed specifically for women with bunions or difficult-to-fit feet.
It contains a half-length Sole Hero® Footbed, a podiatrist-designed support that sits under the arch and heel only, leaving the entire toe box free. Because the footbed does not extend into the forefoot, there is maximum volume at the front of the shoe where a bunion needs it most. The result is a shoe that looks slimline and refined on the outside, with genuine space built in where the foot requires it.
Research supports the use of three-quarter length orthoses for bunion management specifically because full-length footbeds can increase pressure on the medial forefoot in hallux valgus. The Sole Saver Pack® is designed with this in mind.
