It’s a first for FRANKIE4—our inaugural European campaign—and the result is three stunning collections that capture the essence of light, movement, and warm-weather living. This is your passport to go behind the scenes.

Global Art Director Evie McDonough shares her insight into bringing Fresca, Paseo, and Solana to life, from Valencia’s sun-drenched orange groves to the golden shores of Sitges.

Q: Hi, Evie! Before we dive into each collection, can you tell us what shooting in Spain meant for your creative vision?

Evie:“Hi there. So, shooting in Spain was a dream come true. The light, the colours, the energy: it all informed the way we styled, framed, and presented our collections. We wanted each silhouette to feel like it belonged to the place, to the sun, and to the women who wear them.”

Fresca: A Breath of Spring

Fresca—Spanish for fresh—is our Spring 2025 collection, a celebration of renewal and effortless style. Shot beneath the Spanish sun in a working orange grove in Valencia, Fresca evokes a sense of vitality, abundance, and movement. From crisp whites and timeless neutrals to seasonal hues, each piece was designed to energise every step, marrying FRANKIE4’s signature comfort with a fresh, contemporary aesthetic.

Q: The backdrop to Fresca was such a key part of this campaign. How do you feel it complemented what was at the heart of the Spring 2025 collection?

Evie: “Fresca was all about capturing lightness and natural beauty. We wanted the environment to feel part of the collection, to create a story of fresh beginnings. Paseo: Strolling Through Summer

Next up is Paseo, named after the Spanish tradition of a leisurely walk. Captured in the vibrant heart of Barcelona, Paseo channels energy, movement, and social connection: the rhythm of summer in motion. The collection is built for women on the go, grounded in comfort yet bold in design.

Q: Barcelona obviously brought such a different energy to the next collection, Summer 2025. How do you think that translated onto screen?

Evie:“Paseo is about freedom of movement and celebrating the day-to-day with style. Shooting in Barcelona allowed us to capture energy and spontaneity. Our talent wasn’t just posing; they were living the city, the streets, and the summer rhythm. That feeling translated directly into the collection.”

Sun-soaked leathers, embossed detailing, and lightweight knits define Paseo’s palette, while renewed favourites and upcoming silhouettes ensure that women can move seamlessly from work, to brunch, to evening strolls along the beach.

Solana: The Final High Summer Drop

Rounding out our Spanish adventure is Solana, a nod to sun-drenched escapes. The name itself, derived from the Latin sol, evokes light, warmth, and golden summer days. Q: Now for High Summer 2025; you took the team to the seaside this time. What was the vibe like on location?

Evie: “Solana was such a joy to shoot! It was all about sun, sea, and that effortless summer escape. Sitges was the perfect backdrop, with its golden coastline and relaxed energy. Every frame we captured was bathed in warmth, echoing the collection’s sun-kissed tones and delicate crystal details. Honestly, it felt like the collection came alive under the Spanish light; it’s our little ode to summer living.”

Q: What was it like directing FRANKIE4’s first international shoot?

Evie: “Honestly, it was incredible. Shooting in Spain wasn’t just about taking photos, it was about telling a story. Every location shaped our choices, from the textures and tones to the way sunlight hit the leathers. It was completely immersive. We weren’t just capturing the shoes; we were capturing a mood, a lifestyle, a sense of place that really resonates with our collections.”

Q: And did that influence how the campaigns turned out?

Evie: “Absolutely. I wanted every image to feel lived-in and approachable, but still aspirational. The light, the colours, the energy of Spain; it all came together to make the collections feel at home in a way you can almost step into. That’s the magic of shooting on location; it gives life to the designs.”
