Why house shoes?
The human body hasn’t been created to place undue pressure onto our feet. Whilst slippers provide a sense of warmth and short term comfort, they were created for lounging and don’t support or absorb the impact of repetitive pressure onto your feet. Even going bare foot is likely causing you damage. Damage including heel pain that could lead to plantar fasciitis and long term effects to your muscles throughout your lower limbs.

Impact of walking

Research has shown that the surface upon which much of a person’s day is spent plays a large role in the likelihood of developing plantar fasciitis. People who spent an additional 10% of their time standing on hard surfaces (concrete, wood or tiles) had a 30% increase risk of developing plantar fasciitis (Werner R 2010).
